True, it's a movie. But having conversations about subjects it brings up is pretty natural don't you think?

Movies often reflect or challenge the times we live in. Like in the original POTA and Mark's reimagining, it reflects the different -isms (Sex, race) at different times (60s vs. 21st century). We haven't gotten into deep debates on it here, but at movie boards, it's a common occurance.

Then again, I'm an amature film bluff who finds the societal undercurrents of movies very interesting.

it is just a movie. the fact that (david) was such a obsessed guy is what attracts most of the girls who watch him in it. i wouldnt call it rape at all in that one part because if she really didnt want to do it than they would have had her put up a fight and plus..she was high in that part and when david was following her in the car telling her to pull over...he said to her"dont cry...you f---ing liked it."

No, I was much more attaracted to the sweetheart we saw at the beginning. But yes, there very sexy moments for the psycho side of him, too!

I have to say ... that is a really interesting point... but we have to remember that this is Televison/ movies = Entertainment...even though i felt that there was a serious message in the movie ... i didn't take it to the point of freakin out on it ... !!!!!! LOL
