Hey, I was just looking at the Holiday Movie Preview in the latest Entertainment Weekly and Mark's new movie The Yards wasn't listed. I thought the release date was December 1999. Anyone have any info on this??

Yes, I'm praying that neither one of them gets pushed into July. I will be gone from the 8th - 12th, and I just don't want them to be premiering that week!! If "The Yards" even makes it to here, it won't be here long, I'm afraid, so I'll have to see it right away.
And don't forget, after all this, there will be "Oceans 11" later on, too.

According to Upcomingmovies.com, The Yards is being moved back again! It's not going to open til September 8 only in NY & LA, before expanding to other cities later on. Why do they insist on opening his movies when I'm in school? Going to school in a small town sucks. I was all set for the summer, 2 Mark movies with my choice of a dozen theatres at home (the SF/Bay Area)
Oh well.

September 8th!!! Dang!!! Well, guess they did not want anything to interfere with "The Perfect Storm", even another Mark movie!!
But then, I wonder if it will come out near the time of "Metal God"? Hmmm...
Thank God I'm not in school anymore!!!
I CAN GO WHEN I WANT!!!
I just hope "The Yards" and "Metal God" show here. I may have to trek to Tulsa to see 'em. My town is weird about some films. I still cannot believe they only showed Jodie Foster's "Anna & the King" for 1 week!!!
But then... this IS Oklahoma. Why do I expect more?!! :P

Hey guys - What do you think about this film being pushed back so often?? That's usually not a good sign - like either something's up with the production or the studio doesn't have a lot of confidence in it.

Carol, the movie was pushed back so much recently because they had been reshooting some scenes. I think the movie is more of a fall movie any way. Summers are for big, effects oriented type movies (like Perfect Storm). With the cast and the good reviews I've read on the trailer shown during ShoWest, it may be an Oscar contender. And with Miramax, it's got a good chance. They do a great job of pushing their movies for awards.

Hey y'all, I just thought of something POSITIVE abut TY being pushed back again.
When TPS comes out, it is sure to be a big hit, blockbuster calibur, and so TY will reap the fall-out; you know--another Mark W. film by the autumn, and everyone who liked TPS will want to see it!! At least, that is what I would hope!! And then we'll have MG close-at-hand by then, too, and I guess next year O-11, to that 4 films w/ M.W.!! A lot to look forward to over the next, say, 18 months!!
I think the boy is beginning to hit his stride now!! People will just HAVE to take him seriously!! And who know, by the summer of 2001, he could be in REAL high cotton!! Hey, also, I read where Mark said he can pick what films he wants to do now, because all the $$$ he made from CK ads already had him SET. (Not to mention royalties from his music!) He must be a good invester! So in a way, even thogh he is not making $20 mill a picture, YET, he is is a similar position to Harrison Ford, who can also pick and choose. I think Mark is a very smart and savvy businessman.
There are so many sides to this guy! So many facets, just like a Diamond!!
Oh, I just watched "The Big Hit" again, and Christina, you are right, that "Don't Sleep" song is at the VERY end of the entire credits. I sure love the way he kisses in this film. (lol!--I figure he doesn't do these films for the money; he does 'em for the kissing scenes!! He sure enjoys it!!)
Now THAT is something I could rehearse w/ him, as often as necessary!! "TAKE 46-- The Smooch!!"
Although how those women can even remember anything, much less their lines when he is looking at them with THAT FACE...!!!

Know this is off the topic of TY, but yes, those kissing scenes in "The Big Hit" are awesome! (Never thought I'd use that word, but that's the best description I have). China Chow, what a lucky girl!! I wonder if they had started seeing each other before those scenes were shot or if that was the clincher for her. He is so passionate!! God, don't get me started again. . . .

I'll be watching TBH again sometimes this week, b/c I want to listen to the song over the credits, "Don't Sleep". And yeah, I won't cry too hard to see those kissing scenes again either...!
