|
|
I have a random survey question: how many
of us women on the board found the original
POTA totally DULL and BORING??
I've chatted with many of my female friends,
and we all agree we never liked it. My
fiancee, a male, beer-swilling scientist,
adored it, along with all his D&D buddies.
I can't recall all the theories we came up
with about why most women we knew found it
boring; something about the sets being really
plain and uncolourful, and the passivity
of the female characters, I'm not sure.
What do you folks think?
(p.s. I am very excited about Tim Burton's
version of POTA because all of his films are
so imaginative - not to mention the presence
of a certain MW in the starring role!) |

I just watched the original POTA tonight. I thought it was good. You have to remember how old the thing is. It definitely gives you something to think about. I loved the ending with the Statue of Liberty thing. I can't wait to see the new one and look for similarities. |

I completely agree with you. I think the POTA with Charlton Heston in VERY boring, but I can't wait for Tim Burton's to come out, it looks really good |

Yes, I defintely agree with you that the original was totally boring. Mark (obviously) liked it, but again, he's a male. I think women hate it so much because, well, we're smarter, and know better. I probably would've thought it was better if it were 1968, though

I think the Tim Burton one will be better, expecially in terms of scenery (Tim Burton is famous for his scenery, Sleepy Hollow won the Oscar for Art Direction). |
