Buena Vista's "Invincible," an inspirational football tale starring Mark Wahlberg and directed by Ericson Core, scored the most yardage at the nation's multiplexes Friday. According to the boxoffice tracking site boxofficemojo.com, the picture stood in first place for the day with an estimated gross of $5.35 million. It nearly doubled the take of the No. 2 film, Warner Bros. comedy "Beerfest," which took in an estimated $2.7 million. Among the weekend's other new arrivals, Universal Pictures' musical "Idlewild," bowed in fifth place with an estimated $2.08 million, while New Line Cinema's kids movie "How to Eat Fried Worms" had to settle for 11th place with an estimated $1.25 million. Meanwhile, New Line's "Snakes on a Plane," last weekend's top grosser, skidded to the eighth spot with an estimated $1.8 million. Other positions in the top five were filled by Sony Pictures' "Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," in third place with an estimated $2.5 million, and Universal's "Accepted," in fourth place, with an estimated $2.1 million.

Way to go. Definitely worth the money that I paid to see it, I may go again this week. _________________ Why not just shoot my buddy, take his job and give it to his sworn enemy, hike up gas prices, bomb a village, club a baby seal, hit the hash pipe and join the National Guard? I could be elected president. |
