JoBlo has more with Director Fuqua at

http://www.joblo.com/interview-antoine-fuqua

including some quips about the character of Bob Lee:

Quote:
Thereís some talking scenes with politics, but after a while, even I was sitting there in the bay saying, ĎJust shut up. Hang me.í It was getting too talky, Swagger had too much to say. I like the quiet, Steve McQueen type; you start talking and Ė

Wahlberg works better that way.

Yeah, heís better that way; heís great that way, heís stronger that way. Heís a good actor, too; he could handle it, but the dialogue, it was just too opinionated and I think thatís dangerous for a hero.

And heís a recluse; he shouldnít be acting that way anyway.

Yeah, he lives in the mountains; exactly, what does he know about all those politics and how the world was working. Heís living up there being a child right now; I quit, Iím leaving, Iím going to my cabin with my dog and beer and eat carrots.

Aw, man, beer and carrots!! Shocked It don't get any better! ROTFF...

He's got a lot of good things to say about the movie and working with the actors here:

Mark brings a humanity to it. He's a humble guy. He's a guy next door. He's a young soldier on our ships and in Iraq. He's just an average guy as far as I'm concerned and that's what's nice about him because that's why you care about him. He could be your son or your brother or your best friend. He's not some big muscle bound superhero with all the quick one liners and all of that. He's just a regular guy and I think that's the new hero of the day. It's just regular people doing what they can. That's what makes it work.
