Ok, I need to let some steam off so here's my story:

I rented Fear for the first time and I kept on watching it over and over because I really LOVED it

. So, my mom got curious and wanted to watch it with me, so, I said "Ok"

Well, she watched it and said that it was a good movie, but she didn't like Mark's character.

So I said, "Ya,I agree, but his Dad shouldn't have gone so far and break into him and his friends house. Because if he didn't break in Mark probaly wouldn't have gone at there house and try to kill everybody."

SO.....then she exploded and said "YOU SHOULD NOT BE STICKING UP FOR SOMONE LIKE THAT! I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE MARK OR NOT YOU SHOULDN'T STICK UP FOR HIM LIKE THAT!"

and I said, "Mom, it's just a character, AND if I did have a boyfriend I would NOT put up with that OR stick up with him, PROMISE! I am not trying to stick up for him! Don't make a big deal out of it...."

So, now I am BANNED to buy the movie!

She also said, "If you buy that movie I will THROW IT AWAY or RETURN IT!"

So...now I can't see the movie again and I am REALLY sad! I love that movie so much! My mom was way over-reacting... what do ya'll think?

You could always buy it and keep it at your friend's house.

I don't know Crazy4MW. I don't think the lesson here is to disobey your mother even if you think she won't know that you've purchased the movie.

Give it about a week or so (everyone should be more level headed), and sit down with her and explain that your desire to watch this film is because of Mark's acting abilities. Hint, butter her up first by explaining that she's raised you better than to accept this sort of crap from a guy, etc. May be say to her she's not giving you enough credit in your own judgement (yes, use the slight guilt trip too)

Finally, let her know that she's being unreasonable without actually saying it (e.g., while other kids may be interesting in doing drugs, etc., I find some solace in watching MW). I hope it all works out for you.

Whoa!! your mom sounds like mines cause mines ALWAYS over reacts but I`ve learned to live with it...When Fear was on USA I taped it but the only VCR that would tape USA was the living room so my mom sat through the whole movie and saw it.I was surprised when she didn`t make a big deal out of it she just said that Mark`s character was scary(She gets scared out of nothing) and when I bought the movie my mom didn`t really care.....Well anyway I agree with Alicia J.

I love my mommy!!

No, I don't own fear. I'm in the midst of purchasing some educational videos, so MW films are next on my list.

I'd like to own Fear, Rockstar, Boogie Nights, Perfect Storm, The Big Hit.

Hi Crazy4MW! I'm glad ur mum understood in the end! Fear was shown 1nce in the Uk and my mum told me bout it and we watched it 2gether! We recorded it and i treasure that video! Wot is your fav bit in the film?

lol that sounds like my mom. she probably just got mad coz you wouldnt agree with her and argued with her... moms always try to bein control of ur whole mind like that, and its SO annoying!
