let me clear this up for you - mark was bitten by an ELECTRONIC shark. in the actual movie there's a shark that's pulled on board and gets hold of mark's leg. well obviously mark can't have his leg bitten off every time they take that scene, can he? so it's ELECTRONIC.

in an interview mark mentioned that the electronic shark's teeth were very very sharp and he's still got the scars to prove it. the guy operating it pulled the jaw shut tight and mark was in serious agony (!).

Oh my god!!That's awful!He got scars??? I guess those are some of the sacrifices that u have to go through when filming. Apparently Nicole Kidman broke one of her ribs wearing those tight tops for Moulin Rouge.

Oh my god poor Marky! I watched the documentary on the video and George said that after they did the scenes where the boat was in the storms, Mark threw up! Poor Mark!

He got hurt a lot when he was making the film didn't he.The water cannons blew an earplug into his ear too deep.He developed a polyps on his vocal cords from sreaming so much.Hit his head on a railing when escaping from the overturned boat,in addition to the shark incident.I think he suffered a lot from being sick all the time also.Would't you just want to mother him through all of that girls?

Yes it was a fake one,but they filed the teeth to make them look more real & there was a lot of pressure in that bite.
