Kim,
Have you ever seen Ozzy Ozborne on stage? HE looks scary!! I think they are supposed to look like that! It's part of their... genre... or whatever it is they are trying to create. Even Alic Cooper used to be a bit creepy. They are the "extreme" of Rock music, on purpose!
