I can finally say it's official, the US opening is set for Oct 25! Saw it on Universal's website.
And NO I don't know when the premiere is, they don't set those up til at least a few weeks before the release date. It'll be posted when we know. |

The UK is a part of Europe right? LOL I posted on it a couple days ago in this topic. Might do, call UIP and find out from them.
Usually the UK gets it way ahead of the rest of the non US/Canada countries, so consider yourselves pretty lucky compared to others who wait even longer and get dubbed over films. Can you imagine Mark's voice dubbed over? I rather read subtitles.
DVD's take at least 6 months after it comes out to be released, so unless it doesn't get out to you til March, theatres are still the best bet. But multi-regional is still the way to go, as UK DVDs are only now starting to match up with the US content. However, there's about 5 years worth of stuff that won't get repackaged.
Personally I need to find a way to hack my DVD player so I can buy the R2 version of Velvet Goldmine, Snatch & The Yards (you guys got one extra thing the US version didn't have) and a bunch of others I can't remember now! And there's a few in R4 I need too! BN, R4 has one thing R1 doesn't, but they also loss out on alot for that one thing. There's a cool website called Rewind that compares the DVDs from the various regions so you get the most for your money. |

R4 is that Australian?I My DVD player will play all.Must have bought the right one at the time.I know it was about three times the cost of others at the time but if you're going to buy one it's really worth the extra money.I have bought a lot of US dvd's just as or before they even hit the cinemas here.I know that they are coming down in cost now & my brother recently bought a multi region one from cdwow.com for about one hundred quid.
Sometimes you just have to programm a code in for certain ones but it is very easy to do. |

I unfortunately have a built in one in my TV, which is a store brand, so I can't find anything on the Internet about accessing the region switching section. Most have a limit on switching regions, like after 20 times it stays on that last one you were on. I hear its easier on a desktop computer DVD.
Lynne, yup R4's Australian (well really the Oceania area) and Rewind changed their name, here's the website http://www.dvdcompare.org.uk/index.php |
