Does anyone know for sure if there is going to be a Planet Of the Apes Sequel ???

And does anyone know why the name Semos was the first Apes name, and how that originated ?

I'm pretty sure there's going to be a sequel, although nothings definate yet. B/c you can't just leave the ending like that. If they did then I would be going out of my mind.

About Semos, I think thats from simian which I'm pretty sure means apes. Vut I'm not sure. Hope that helps!

Semos was the name of one of the apes on the Oberon. He's the one that started the revolution against the humans and began the planet of the apes.

If there is a sequel, i'm sure it won't be as successful as this one. A lot of people didn't enjoy the plot and especially the ending so...i'm not sure. I highly doubt it will make as much money as this one did but you never know.

Are there any males in this board? I've pretty much seen only females in here and i'm sure it's because of mark's...physical features among other things.

I'm sure if there is a sequel it will do pretty well. Not too many people loved the Mummy's plot, and the Mummy Returns did very, very well at the box office. So I'm sure commercially it will do very well.

In an interview, Mark said the only way he'd be in the sequel is if Tim Burton directed it.

to answer the original question - i would have thought it was 'simos' as the god's name - which was invented by the apes as they became able to speak... and of course the name simos would come out because of 'simian' as in the genetic names for all apes. (as we humans are homosapiens)

and efactor himself said the ending left it open to a sequel. not that anything is definite - they'll probably see how well this one will do and then it'll be decided.

Hey I just seen POTA's once so I could be wrong (a plan on seeing it again) but I think Semos is the name of the monkey that is going nuts in the cage in the beganing of the movie.

cocacola is right, semus (spelling?) was one of the chimps in the space station. I think he was the one that led the war on humans.
