September 6, 2002... "Filming in progress on 4th street, between Spring Street and Main Street in Los Angeles (Sept. 5, 2002). The crew have been here for a couple of weeks preparing the street to look like a street in Philadelphia, with 'Bridger, Lock and Safe Company' a prominent feature."

If I live near 4th street, I will visit there every day. |

| Thanks for the info. I guess that's why they thought they would be filiming in Philadelphia. I have a question for them, why are they creating a street to "look like one in Philadelphia" when they could come and film here and bring him a little closer? |

| Probably because it would be cheaper. With location shooting, you have to fly in the actors, crew, equiptment and house them. Then get a local agency to recruit extras. In addition to getting permits which depending on how regulations are, can take days or weeks if not months to process. At the location there, its mostly old buildings - Art Deco sorts so I'm thinking they're using one as a 'job' location. Tho as its really in downtown, I'd hope they film mostly at night or weekends as traffic will be deadly if they do it during business hours. After business hours it should be pretty clear. |

Don't I wish, I'm about 250 miles north of the location! I've been thru LA a couple times and the buildings around there have been in movies/TV over the years.
Anyway, I'm thinking if they are using the Art Deco/Nouveau buildings, it's a homage to the 60s when the original film was made. |
